NUTR12001 Human Nutrition

Course details

This course relates the principles of nutritional physiology to the maintenance of health and prevention of disease across all life stages. Detailed study of the structure and function of the gastrointestinal tract, nutrient requirements and nutritional assessment for individuals and populations, energy balance, body composition and weight management will be undertaken with a view to developing the background to provide appropriate nutritional advice within a community setting. This course will also explore consumer concerns about food quality and safety and nutritional effects on fitness and exercise.
