OCCT21002 Fundamentals of Pre-clinical Occupational Therapy

Course details

This course introduces students to the theoretical and philosophical foundations of the profession, interpersonal and group communication skills and the occupational therapy process. In addition it explores foundation skills and knowledge in the practice of occupational therapy including assessment of occupational performance, observation and interview skills, the ability to work with people at different life stages and basic practice skills including manual handling, wheel chair prescription and mobility training. The course encourages self-reflection on values and life experiences and draws on prior knowledge bases to enhance the understanding of occupational performance.
