Course details
This capstone course will provide students with the integration of knowledge, skills and professional experience of clinical work in a dental surgery in preparation for employment as an oral health therapist. Students will be exposed to a real work environment where they will be able to demonstrate competence in total patient care over a range of clinical preventive and operative procedures with patients within the scope of practice of an oral health therapist. Reflective and self directed learning will improve student¿s ability as a clinician within their scope of practice in a supportive and confidence- building environment. Lastly, students will be able to communicate oral health in oral and written formats in terms of relevant interpersonal/team communication skills and professional attitudes/behaviours.
