MEDI11002 Physics for Health Sciences

Course details

This course creates the foundations for an understanding of physics as it applies to health sciences instrumentation, computerisation, and other applications of physical phenomena in physiological processes and diagnostic practices. Principles of sound, light electricity, the electro magnetic spectrum, radiation physics, fluids and gases will be applied to the use and manipulation of instrumentation used in health professions. Tutorials and laboratories will allow a focus on discipline specific requirements.
FLEX Students will be required to attend a residential school to promote development of course learning outcomes.
Distance education (FLEX) students must have access to a computer and will need to make frequent use of the Internet.
