Higher Doctorate

A Higher Doctorate is awarded for a body of original work which, in the opinion of the examiners, has been generally recognised by scholars in the field concerned as being a substantial and distinguished contribution to knowledge or creative achievement. This work is not the result of supervised candidature within the university, but an applicant would normally have had some association with the university, either by being a graduate or having been a member of the academic staff. Such students are not included in Enrolment or Student Load Files. They are only reported as a Past Course Completion.
