Career Opportunities

The Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood Education) is a pre-service preparation for those who aim to pursue a career as an early childhood teacher/educator.  Graduates are qualified to teach in kindergarten, preparatory classrooms or primary schools from Year 1 to 7. The qualification also enables you to work as a Director or teacher in childcare centres within the state of Queensland. Those who aim to pursue a career within the Catholic Education sector should seek information from the Program Coordinator prior to the commencement of their second year studies.

Please note: The Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood Education) is an approved child care qualification with the Queensland Government: Office for Early Childhood Education and Care

Students who have completed a TAFE CHC50302 Diploma in Children's Services (Child Care) or equivalent will be eligible to apply for credit into this program of study. Those students who are employed in the field are eligible to apply for entry to the internal program but may complete their studies in an on-line mode of delivery while they continue their employment.

About Learning Management (Early Childhood)

The Bachelor of Learning Management (Early Childhood Education) program is dedicated to the graduation of educators who are industry-ready and futures oriented educators. Students are supported both by academic staff and  professionals within the early childhood sector.

Students explore personal development through self-understanding and expression, as well as the theoretical foundations of education. Academic development and the practical application of teaching skills are also a focal point in learning management programs.

Students are able to commence in the program via a mid-year intake in Term 2, 2011.  A fast track option to complete the program in three years (three and a half years for students commencing mid-year) is also available to students subject to conditions.  Please contact the Program and Course Adviser for more information.

Note: it is now a requirement of the Commission for Children and Young People that all university students and other volunteers in schools undergo a criminal history check. Therefore it will be necessary for all commencing students to apply for a ‘Suitability Blue Card' through a nominated person at each campus. The ‘Suitability Blue Card' remains current for three years.
