MUSC12403 Digital Media Software & Systems 3

Course details

This course develops programming and design skills in general, and in particular, the use of object oriented programming in a music environment. Students are exposed to alternative approaches to programming. General issues of syntax, fundamental constructs (e.g. sequence, selection, iteration); program design strategies (e.g. procedures, recursion, modularity) using Max/MSP and/or similar as the implementation language. Both MIDI and signal processing applications will be presented concentrating on non-linear and algorithmic processes of sound composition.
