FINC22002 Shari'ah Deposits & Financing

Course details

Students who successfully complete this course will understand and be able to explain the various aspects of the deposit and financing operations of Shari’ah banks, including instruments, product risk and legal issues. They will be able to compare and contrast Islamic and Western concepts of deposit and financing operations; analyse and interpret contemporary academic and popular media commentary on Islamic deposit and financing operations; reflect upon Islamic deposit and financing operations issues in the context of a Western economic setting including the relevance of ethical and professional practice; integrate theoretical and technical deposit and financing operations knowledge and critically apply these to solve emerging and/or advanced problems using an ethical and professional approach in multi-cultural and multi-faith environments; and justify and communicate Islamic deposit and financing operations advice and ideas in complex collaborative contexts.
