LITR19052 The Modern Novel

Course details

The Modern Novel introduces students to current and modern twentieth century novels from a wide range of national literatures. The course will take a number of contemporary critical and theoretical approaches. These will include the various formal transformations of the novel through classic realism, modernism and postmodernism as well as its ongoing engagement with issues of the decentred self, gender and sexuality along with issues of race and class.
