FINC20012 Taxation Planning and Estate Planning

Course details

The Constitution and taxation power; the concept, source and derivation of income at ordinary concepts; exempt income; allowable deductions; tax offsets; statutory inclusions in income including capital gains, trading stock; fringe benefits tax; taxation of companies; partnerships and trusts; administrative and anti-avoidance provisions.

This course also provides a framework for understanding the role of the financial advisor in the areas of estate and succession planning. It will cover the following areas related to estate and succession planning: business structures, family issues, wills and powers of attorney, deceased estates and their administration and distribution, negligence, tax implications and related topics.
