EDED20450 Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

Course details

This course aims to introduce the theoretical foundations of second language teaching and to examine practical applications of these for effective teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages. The course focuses on current approaches and examines how these may be used or adapted across a range of diverse contexts. Communicative approaches and teaching methods related to these are used as the basis for practical teaching experiences of small-groups. The course addresses instruction in speaking and listening, reading and writing, and the assessment of learning in these areas.
