NURS13119 Professional Nursing Practice

Course details

Student should be able to critically reflect on the professional roles and responsibilities as these articulate with the role as a beginning registered nurse. This course prepares the student to make a successful transition from student nurse to graduate nurse entering the workplace environment. The course challenges students to provide nursing care for a range of clients and presents an opportunity to consolidate concepts from the nursing program during an extended clinical placement. Students are encouraged to critically examine nursing practice in the clinical environment and demonstrate the beginning level competence in the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council Competencies for Registered Nurses.

Participation in compulsory clinical placement should provide students with a suitable learning environment to meet the course objectives. Participation in the intensive workshop sessions is compulsory for all students.
