ENAC12004 Computer Aided Drafting and Design (Civil)

Course details

Students extend the knowledge and skills developed in Computer Aided Drafting, applying these to the preparation of drawing details and project documentation for civil and structural projects. Students work with engineers design instructions and survey data, obtain relevant design standards, manuals and handbooks, research manufacturers¿ product information and specifications and apply this information to prepare project drawings and documentation. They determine materials quantities for projects, describe roles and responsibilities of members of engineering design teams, and office procedures for managing project information and documents. Drawing projects provide opportunities to demonstrate professional teamwork and communication and support collaborative learning.

Distance education (FLEX) students are required to have access to a computer capable of running computer aided drafting software, and to make frequent use of the Internet.
