Course details

Students who successfully complete this course will understand and be able to list and describe the various forms of Islamic financial institutions, markets and instruments. They will be able to compare and contrast Islamic financial institutions, markets and instruments with the corresponding Western style institutions, markets and instruments; analyse and interpret contemporary academic and popular media commentary on Islamic financial institutions and markets; and reflect upon Islamic financial institution and market issues in the context of a Western economic setting including the relevance of ethical and professional practice.
