COIT20241 User Interface Development

Course details

This course introduces students to the underlying theory relevant to human-computer interaction and their application to the design of effective user interfaces for their target audience. The complementary roles of both user-centred design and task-centred design in software engineering will be explored. The need for evaluation will be emphasised and current approaches will be analysed. In terms of development, the focus will be on web interfaces but case studies from other areas will be employed as appropriate to emphasise good design principles. Future directions in human-computer interaction will be explored.
