Career Opportunities
Graduates will be exceptionally well placed to fill roles such as the newly developed Advanced Allied Health Assistant. Graduates will also be able to engage in employment in health promotion, public health, health research and articulation into other health education. Students can choose to exit the program after two years with an Associate Degree and will be well qualified to undertake assistant roles across the health and social care sectors.
The Bachelor of Health Science (Allied Health) will also provide students with the necessary skill set to enter professional graduate entry Masters programs. Many allied health careers now prefer postgraduate qualifications, and as such, our Bachelor of Health Science is the first step to a rewarding career in Allied Health. Graduates will potentially be able to enter postgraduate education programs towards registering in professions such as; Physiotherapy; Occupational Therapy; Podiatry and Speech Pathology.
Health Science (Allied Health)
The Bachelor of Health Science (Allied Health) provides a foundation learning opportunity that will equip graduates with skills, knowledge and experience necessary to fill emerging health workforce roles. This exciting program reflects the contemporary direction of the national agenda on health and emphasises a multi-disciplinary approach.
The Bachelor of Health Science (Allied Health) is a 3 year program offered in an internal and flexible delivery model from the Rockhampton and Bundaberg campuses. The Bachelor of Allied Health will deliver graduate attributes that foster problem solving, critical thinking, encourage a culture of life long learning and produce workplace ready successful graduates. The program will include human body systems, problem solving in the workplace, the role of allied health practitioners, and healthcare in contemporary society.
