Music at CQUniversity encompasses many areas including Jazz and Popular Music (musical development through performance, vocal and instrumental performance and composition and arrangement); Classical Voice (variety of classical vocal styles, solo and large vocal ensembles, technical theatre aspects, stage management, sound and lighting for theatre and design and direction for theatre); Classical Piano (classical and contemporary piano styles, solo piano, piano accompaniment, technical theatre aspects, stage management, sound and lighting for theatre and design and direction for theatre)' Creative Music Technologies (industry relevant skills in music technology, live sound recording, reading and writing music notation and creating music with new audio technologies); and Music Studies (generalised music curriculum, historical, theoretical and cultural contexts of Western music and classical, jazz or contemporary popular music studies).
