MUSC21001 Jazz Composition 1

Course details

This course should equip students to explore creativity and originality through the production of new musical compositions. Students will study a range of compositional devices associated with the jazz idiom and will also be required to contextualise their work through the investigation of current practice in its historical context. The production of new musical compositions will be the primary focus of this course. These works will be performed as a part of Jazz Practicum 1 and may be recorded in Recording Project 1.
