NURS11151 Beginning Nursing Practice

Course details

This course will introduce the student to the clinical environment and provide opportunities for the student to perform clinical tasks within their scope of practice. The course aims to provide opportunities to better understand the Australian health care system, introduce models of care and enable the application of key concepts and competencies undertaken in pre-requisite study. The new concepts introduced in this course will be explored and discussed in the context of the students¿ clinical learning experience, such as codes and legislation related to nursing practice, nursing research and evidence-based practice, and culturally appropriate nursing practice. The student will be guided to develop and maintain a compulsory Clinical Portfolio to reflect on and record developing knowledge, skills, attitudes and values in accordance with the National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
