NURS11153 Health and Behaviour

Course details

Understanding that health and illness is a unique experience for each individual and integrally related to thoughts, feelings and actions is essential for any health professional. This course provides the opportunity for the student to explain psychological and social foundations of health and illness and the role of emotion in health and illness. It also should allow students to discuss factors influencing health and illness behaviours including developmental stage and cognitions and strategies used in facilitating change in health behaviour. Finally students should be able to critically evaluate the influence of culture on health values.
