ESSC11004 Study and Research Skills for Health Science

Course details

The course is designed as a foundation for students entering tertiary health sciences programs. Students will learn to identify, retrieve and critically evaluate information pertaining to the health sciences. Tutorials and assessments will focus on proficiency of written and oral communications. Students will understand research methodology and the use of statistics in informing clinical practise. Students will be introduced to evidence based practise and understand its importance in their specific profession or discipline. Distance education (FLEX) students will be required to have access to a computer to make frequent use of internet resources and will be required to attend a residential school on Rockhampton campus to promote development of course learning outcomes.
