ENTM12005 Computer Aided Drafting and Design (Mechanical)

Course details

This course extends the knowledge and skills developed in Computer Aided Drafting. Students obtain relevant standards, manuals and handbooks, an d research product information relevant to a project, work with engineers design instructions and project data, and apply this information to prepare 3D models, detail and assembly drawings and project and documentation. The course presents methods of detailing tolerances, welds, machining and surface finishes and production of pipe layouts and fluid power schematics. It outlines office procedures for managing project information and documents and roles and responsibilities of members of engineering design teams. Students demonstrate professional teamwork and communication and support collaborative learning.

Distance education (FLEX) students are required to have access to a computer capable of running computer aided drafting software, and to make frequent use of the Internet.
