NURS21157 Mental Health Nursing Practice

Course details

This course aims to provide students with a sound understanding of the collaborative role of the mental health nurse, working with consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary team. Students will also become familiar with specialised areas of mental health practice, and a range of treatments and interventions such as motivational interviewing, solution focussed therapy, CBT, DBT, narrative therapy and group work. They will develop a better awareness of how group dynamics and group leadership influence and underpin small and large groups within a therapeutic context.
