ENAR12002 Structural Geology and Mineral Sampling

Course details

This course introduces the classification and interpretation of major geological structures
Examination is undertaken of deformational and non-deformational structures, fabric elements and processes, recognition, interpretation of morphology and geological maps. Geometrical analysis is undertaken of geological structures using structural contours, orthographic and stereographic projection techniques.

Mineral sampling procedures are examined in respect to coal, metalliferous ores and construction materials. A practical component will explore different sampling strategies and techniques for grade control and product blending
