ESSC12003 Exercise and Sport Psychology

Course details

This course is designed to provide students with key psychological knowledge relating to aspects of sport performance and participation across a variety of sport and exercise environments based on exemplary and contemporary practice. The emphasis will be upon psychological processes and strategies that enhance individual, group and team performance and processes. The role of psychology on injury, disability and illness of athletes will also be introduced. Students will analyse psychological principles as they apply to physical self-enhancement. Attention will be given to coaching behaviour and its effect upon athlete performance.
