ACCT19084 Financial Accounting

Course details

The course provides an introduction to the conceptual framework of financial accounting, and shows how these concepts are applied to accounting for receivables, inventories, non-current assets and liabilities. These concepts are considered in both a manual and a computerised accounting system (MYOB). The course also undertakes a study of the analysis of financial statements and considers how the resultant information is used and interpreted for effective decision-making by both internal and external users. The business entity of partnerships is also covered. In this course students will be required to demonstrate their information literacy and information technology competence abilities by written communication and the use of computer software at an introductory level. Students will also be required to undertake team work.
