ACCT11057 Principles of Accounting

Course details

This course provides an introduction to the recording, classifying, and reporting of business transactions in the traditional historical cost system of accounting for sole trader entities. These basic accounting concepts are then used in cash management, retailing and manufacturing. Both manual and computerised accounting systems are examined. The course also introduces the concepts behind management accounting, as well as breakeven analysis, contribution margin, job costing and budgeting. Consequently, by the end of this course, a student should be able to keep books of a sole trader effectively and to prepare and explain simple cost and budget statements.
