Course details

This course examines the development of motor skills across the lifespan and identifies the major influences on skill acquisition. It explores the concept that skill acquisition is not simply a concern for children and adolescents but that as adults enter the different phase of their lifespan they invariably attempt to acquire new motor skills. Consideration is given to both the physical and cognitive aspects of skill acquisition and the implications of motor learning for the development and implementation of a variety of movement programs. NOTE: Students enrolling in this course MUST possess a current Ble Card "Working with Children" authorisation. Should you need to obtain a Blue Card, direct your enquiries to the: Blue Card Contact Centre on 07 3211 6999 or 1800 113 611.
