EDED10418 Creativity, Innovation & Entrepreneurship

Course details

This course is fundamental in enabling students to participate in the development of new knowledge; synthesize existing knowledge into new applications and to use creativity to identify ‘futures’ opportunities. The emphasis in this course goes beyond traditional long-term claims of what constitutes creativity and innovation and extends the concept to include engagement with business, industry, government, and other such professional organisations in order to encourage a transdisciplinary approach to the creative knowledge economy.

This course explores ways to recognize, create, engage and exploit creative opportunities and innovations. This course is divided into four (4) dimensions of creativity and innovation: Intellectual, Social, Personal and Practical (Gillette, 2006) in which the student will learn to navigate, manage and promulgate new concepts from a personal and collaborative perspective.
