NURS11151 Beginning Nursing Practice

Course details

On Completion of this course students should be able to describe the Australian Health Care system and differentiate between the roles of the government and private sectors with respect to service delivery. Students should be able to compare and contrast the roles of the nurse under the main models of contemporary nursing. In addition, students should demonstrate knowledge and skills in clinical decision making and beginning competence in nursing practice through the development of a clinical portfolio.

Participation in compulsory clinical placement should provide students with a suitable learning environment to meet the course objectives. Participation in the clinical laboratory sessions is compulsory for internal students and participation in the online tutorial and residential school is compulsory for flex students.
