CQUniversity Student Exchange and Study Abroad - CQUniversity Outbound

CQUniversity offers opportunities for students to broaden their study experience by spending a term or a year of study overseas. CQUniversity currently has student exchange programs to Cananda, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Norway, USA and Sweden.

To be eligible for consideration to participate in an exchange program, students must be a domestic student currently enrolled in a program at CQUniversity. International students are not eligible to participate in the outbound exchange program.  At the time of the exchange you must have successfully completed at least one year of full-time study at CQUniversity or at lease eight courses.  You must have sound academic achievement and academic references. For successful candidates, various scholarships and travel grants are available to assist with travel costs.

As an exchange student you will not be required to pay tuition fees directly to your exchange university. Your student contribution amounts for the term/s of the exchange will cover the cost of your tuition whilst you are studying overseas as an enrolled CQUniversity student.

For enquiries contact the Manager, International Student Exchange & Study Abroad on exchange-enquiries@cqu.edu.au or +61 7 4923 2438.

Academic Entry Requirements

Entry to undergraduate Study Abroad and Exchange courses are available to students who have successfully completed at least one year of full-time university study in their home country, with an acceptable minimum GPA (eg. USA - GPA 2.5), or as otherwise agreed between institutions.

English Language Requirements

Students who do not have English as a first language, or have not completed secondary or tertiary study via the medium of English, must also meet our English requirements (i.e. have an equivalent of an overall Academic IELTS band score of 6 (with no individual band score of less than 5) OR a TOEFL score of 550, including a TWE score of 4 - computer based score of 213).

Credit and Recognition

Before students arrive at CQUniversity, coordination between the home university and the appropriate program advisor at the University ensures that wherever possible, courses taken at CQUniversity will be credited towards a degree program.

At the end of the Study Abroad or Exchange program, students receive a certificate of completion. An official academic transcript is forwarded to the student's home university.

Innovative programs are offered across all CQUniversity faculties and provide opportunity to enrol in courses with similar home university content but with an Australian perspective.
