ENEE13015 Power System Analysis

Course details

Students analyse, plan and design power systems and power systems operation. They analyse and design balanced and unbalanced power systems, analyse faults in networks and devise protection schemes, and plan to improve network capacity and security. They analyse and improve stability and quality of power systems, investigate distributed generation systems and use of renewable energy sources, use systems approaches to analyse, plan and design power networks and solve operating problems and apply appropriate software packages to analysis and planning of power systems. Students are required to show that they learn and work in a professional manner, both independently and in teams. They manage learning projects, solve problems and develop skills in the use of the technical language of power systems analysis.
Distance education (FLEX) students are required to have access to a computer, to make frequent use of the Internet, and are required to participate in Residential School activities.
