Course details

Students undertaking this course will study prominent jazz musicians, composers and repertoire, including the sociological and political events that influenced musical trends in jazz between 1900 and 1945. Particular attention is given to the study and analysis of primary source materials in the form of musical analysis of the musical forms relevant to the style within this period.
