| Residential School | All participants are required in conjunction with core social work courses to attend two week-long compulsory residential schools each year in Rockhampton. Please refer to the Residential School timetable in this handbook. |
| Practicum/Work placement | Field placements are compulsory in years three and four of the program. Each placement is of 14 weeks duration in an agency approved by the University and with supervision by a qualified social worker. Placements may be organised in metropolitan, urban, regional, rural and isolated areas. At least one rural placement is strongly encouraged. |

CQUniversity has a three term year. Each term is of 12 weeks duration, commencing in February, July and November.
