The Bachelor of Music is ideal for students considering a career in the music industry as a professional musician, performing artist, composer or teacher. Career opportunities could include professional orchestral player, member of an opera company, university lecturer, classroom music teacher, private studio music teacher, musical arranger, composer, conductor or a member of a contemporary music group.

About Music

The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) is responsible for the overview and development of music, theatre, dance and arts administration across the University.

This program explores both classical and contemporary music genres. Students receive training in performance, composition, and studio techniques, while also having the opportunity to study recording, production and song writing. Stage craft, conducting, multimedia and studio teaching are also optional study areas designed to provide students with knowledge in a range of music related fields.

No new enrolments are being taken in this program of study - the program is now a part of the 'Core Studies Plan' in CG51 Bachelor of Music (Specialisation)
