The Bachelor of Music Theatre is designed for students seeking a profession in the music theatre or entertainment industry as a performing artist, director, choreographer, designer, technician or manager.
The degree also provides excellent pathways for careers in education, creative industries and arts administration.
About Music Theatre
The Central Queensland Conservatorium of Music (CQCM) is responsible for the overview and development of music, theatre, dance and arts administration across the University.
This program allows students to combine music studies with an acting or vocal specialisation. Students explore both classical and contemporary music genres and receive training in performance, composition and studio techniques. Depending on electives chosen, students may study recording, production, song writing, stage craft, conducting, multimedia or studio teaching.
No new enrolments are being taken in this program of study - the program is now a part of the 'Core Studies Plan' in CG51 Bachelor of Music (Specialisation)
