Course details

This course covers, at the postgraduate level, the main concepts, tools, techniques, practices and approaches to strategy, and is thus the compulsory introductory course to the capstone course designed to integrate all your studies. You will study how to develop visions, missions, objectives and strategies for large diversified organisations as a whole, for strategic business units, and for smaller entrepreneurial enterprises. You will learn the main principles of strategy in practice, and the assessment of the best strategic choice options. Both competitive and co-operative strategies are covered. You will also cover competitive advantages that can be gained from taking key initiatives, and how to improve the chances of achieving successful strategy implementation. The course covers both formal strategic planning and emergent strategy under conditions of rapid change, uncertainty and complexity.
