This module provides candidates with the theoretical concepts to develop a conceptual framework for analysing and evaluating the potential future impact of social, cultural, economic and philosophical dynamics to their research area. Upon successful completion of this module, doctoral candidates should be able to: develop a conceptual framework for analysing trends and potential futures; evaluate contemporary conditions relevant to the doctoral research area from social, cultural, economic and philosophical bases; evaluate potential futures relevant to the doctoral research area from social, cultural, economic and philosophical bases; formulate and apply a preferred strategy for analysing trends and potential futures to the doctoral research area.
