ENAC12001 Applied Hydraulics

Course details

In this course, hydraulics involves application of an understanding of pressure and flow in water to civil engineering problems. The course introduces basic theories used to solve problems involving pressure and flow in water. It requires students to solve problems, prepare basic designs, and describe the construction and maintenance of pipe systems and open channel systems. Students also choose methods of testing and measurement, select pumps for given applications, and estimate flows resulting from rainfall runoff. In completing these tasks, students use appropriate technical language in their communication and work individually and in teams to solve problems.
Distance education (FLEX) students are required to have access to a computer and to make frequent use of the Internet.
