EDED20296 Financial Management in Schools

Course details

(Not offered 2004). The purpose of this course is to enable students to develop an awareness of current financial and strategic planning issues and practices and examine their practical implementation for financial management in educational settings. By evaluating strategic planning and financial management practices in relation to theories used in educational administration links are drawn with other aspects of management. The course consists of two essential modules: (1) principles and practice of school financial management; and (2) the political and organisational context of school financial management. Option modules deal with: strategic planning and program budgeting, computerised accounting packages for schools, capital stock management and resource financing.
