STAT20028 Statistics for Analytical Decisions

Course details

This course will examine statistics, with particular focus on applications to the business environment. It aims to equip students with the statistical tools needed to become effective analytical decision makers. Concepts and applications of probability and statistical modelling involving questions of estimation and inference are covered. Topics include descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency and dispersion, binomial, poisson and normal distributions, confidence intervals, hypothesis testing, chi-square tests, linear regression, correlation and time series analysis.
