EDSE12013 Senior Phase Pedagogy

Course details

Effective pedagogy is central to achieving learning outcomes in students. This course focuses on pedagogical practices that explicitly engage adolescents participating in the Senior Phase of Learning encompassing Senior Secondary Schooling and Vocational Education and Training (VET). This course uses a research based pedagogical framework to enable learning managers to design and deliver learning experiences that achieve outcomes in students.

This course deals with the different situations and contexts of teaching in the Senior Phase of Learning. The influences of curriculum frameworks are critically examined as well as an applied working knowledge of school work programs, study plans and VET Learning Programs. The concepts of moderation, validation and certification procedures in Secondary and VET as well as the of convergence of general and Vocational Education and Training (VET) is examined.
