MDWF21002 Midwifery Practice

Course details

This course introduces the student to the biological sciences of the antepartum and early postpartum period. The physical, psychological and sociological changes that occur in preparation for childbirth are explored along with care and referral processes that support the traumatised childbearing woman. Central to this course is the midwife role to developing and maintaining a case report. There is a compulsory 5 day residential school at the Rockhampton Campus attached to this course.
