WELF19007 Welfare Studies D: Working With Communities

Course details

This course develops the student's ability to engage with the notion and practice of facilitating change at the community or "big picture" level. As such, the community itself is identified as the "client". The course explores the principles, concepts and strategies of community development within diverse contexts by analysing local and national community development projects. Key trends and issues in the community practice discourse are also explored. Students will gain an understanding of the role of the community practitioner and develop community practice skills.
