Availability
Not all majors available to students in this program are available at all of the University's campuses. Depending on their campus and their intended majors, students may find that they are required to complete part of their studies via distance education.
Application for credit transfer
Credit transfer will only be granted where a student is able to demonstrate that tertiary studies equivalent in content and depth to a Bachelor of Accounting/Bachelor of Business course have been completed, and that such credit meets the requirements of the professional bodies that accredit the program. Students should examine the course synopses in this handbook to determine the courses for which they may be eligible to claim credit exemption. Refer to Credit for Previous Studies in the Admission and Enrolment section of the Handbook, regarding the guidelines and requirements in applying for credit transfer.
Limited Passing Grades
Students enrolled in any program should be aware of the Faculty Program Rules relating to the award of Pass Conceded and Pass Terminating Grades. In addition to these rules, students in the accounting related programs should be aware that the degree rules for the program mean that students can use a maximum of one Pass Conceded or Pass Terminating grade in any of their core courses or compulsory accounting technical specialist courses towards the requirements of their degree program. Those students intending to apply to the ICAA for membership should be aware that this professional body will not accept any Pass Conceded or Pass Terminating grades in any of the core curriculum areas of the accounting program.
Study Plans and Schedules
A recommended study schedule for this program can be obtained from your Program Advisor or the Faculty website. Students may determine their own schedule based upon credit transfers and personal study requirements. It is important to note that full-time students usually enrol in 4 courses per term and part-time students usually enrol in 2 courses per term.
For Program Planners please refer to the Faculty of Business and Informatics website located at http://fbi.cqu.edu.au/FCWViewer/view.do?page=1326.
