ENTG11001 Computer Aided Drafting

Course details

This course develops computer-aided design and drafting skills. It extends the learning outcomes developed in prior engineering drafting studies. Students develop skills in 2D and 3D drawing incorporating solid and surface modelling and rendered images. They use CAD to solve common geometric design problems, including use of auxiliary views and descriptive geometry techniques. Working, detail, and assembly drawings will be produced to AS1100 standards. Students also demonstrate an effective, professional level of teamwork and communication and support collaborative learning, and produce drawings and sketches in a professional manner.
Distance education (FLEX) students will need to have computer access and to make frequent use of the Internet. Students will need frequent access to a Microsoft Windows computer loaded with appropriate CAD software identified in the Learning Resources.
