EDVT11004 Adolescent & Adult Education

Course details

The Secondary and Vocational Education and Training (VET) sectors are constantly undergoing change to the extent where it is now a necessity in order to keep up you need to be able to comprehend the history, the politics and the future through what is often referred to in as keeping current.

With growth and change in these dynamic sectors comes tensions. It is these tensions that drive both sectors. Such as the interests of state and federal governments, the interests of industry and the unions. Secondary and VET for these competitors means jobs and expenditure, therefore they will continue to be political animals as long as the interests of these stakeholders continue to have a say in the sectors.

This course is intended to provide a basic understanding of the Secondary and VET sectors and the competing interests of the stakeholders involved, so that students will be able to better understand future developments that will affect them and their students.
