MDWF22004 Post Partum and Neonatal Care Continuum

Course details

This course introduces the student to the biological sciences that are central to maintenance of normal postpartum processes and the initiation and maintenance of lactation. The physical, psychological and sociological changes during the postpartum period are introduced along with the cultural influences and parent-infant attachment to enhance maternal and neonatal wellbeing. This course incorporates the concepts of family planning, contraception and parenting to promoting woman wellness.
