EDED20467 Assessment and Evaluation

Course details

This is a core course for the Master of Professional Education program. It explores concepts and practices of assessment and evaluation students and teachers and employs critical foresight, futures work and reflection to inform professional educators about the validity and reliability of assessment methods and their various applications. The course is problem-solving based and by the end of the course, students will have analysed appropriate assessment and evaluation techniques for classroom application and will have realised their own needs for evaluation as professional educators.

The course aims to provide a solid reference base for the professional educator in evaluating and assessing students and themselves, to develop critical and creative thinking appropriate for the attainment of the Masters degree, and to apply that thinking to the resolution of complex problems concerning the role of the professional educator.
