WELF19039 Welfare Studies E:Practicum

Course details

The practicum placements may be undertaken provided that prerequisite studies and a four-day Residential (available in Term 2) have been successfully completed. Following consultation/interview with the Practicum Coordinator, students will be assigned to work in human services settings that are consistent with their studies and interests. Students will undertake two separate placements of 280 hours each (total of 560 hours) under field/University supervision. The two practicum placements normally include work in a government, as well as a non-government agency. Examples of settings in which students might participate are: hospitals, community health and welfare agencies, community development organizations, local shire councils, crisis centres, and so on. Assessment for this course includes written assignments, interviews with students and field supervisors, and supervisor reports.
